A tisket, a tasket, I need a new jacket.

16 Oct

Ask anyone who’s overweight and/or dieting, and they’ll most likely concur:  weight and food is always at the forefront.  Always.  I know it’s going to be time to buy a new jacket soon, as I’m almost positive that last year’s jacket isn’t going to fit anymore.  So I can either do what I did the winter of ’08, which is be cold until Spring, or I can suck it up and start shopping.

First of all, I’m obsessed with this jacket I keep seeing Genevieve Gorder wear on Dear Genevieve.  It’s off white with these ruffles at the bottom that sort of have a bustle effect.  I adore it.  And since I have no ass to speak of, anything that will add bulk back there is perfect.  So I’m on a mission to find that jacket or something similar, at a price I can afford.

Oh, and I also need it to fit.  *sigh*

The primary issue is that I’m short with big boobs.  Regardless of my BMI, that’s always going to be the case.  There’s no getting around it.  But the heavier I get, the harder it gets to find something that’ll fit.  Last year I lucked out in the Faith 21 section at Forever 21.  I checked online, and there’s not a lot to choose from.  So far, I’m not convinced that anything I’ve come across will actually work, but damn there’s some pretty stuff out there.

I’m in love with all of these!  The sixth one down is the most similar to what Genevieve has.  Pshh… it might even actually be the one she has.  It took a bit of work to find jackets with the shape that I want, and that was with me shopping on the entire internet.  I’m going to have to break out a pair of lucky underwear or something if I want to find one in an actual store.
